Streaming media

Streaming media is a system that allows to hear, view or read something while it is being delivered. The content is not downloded but broadcast in continuous. For example, radios and televisions are typically streaming media. But it is especially used to describe the broadcast of radio on internet or video-on-demand. The avantages of the process is that you don't have to download the programme on your computer to view it. But for the moment, the quality is not always very high since it depends on the banwith you have access to.
