Time shifting

Time shifting is a system that allows to record TV programmes and watch it at a more convenient time. It offers different functions: you can skip in the TV programme like in a DVD player (press pause, play, rewind, forward). It records automatically the programmes you are watching and you don't have to wait for the end of a recording to watch a programme. TIVO is an example of this system. This is the beginning of the end for today's television.
